Home Sweet Home Veterinary House Calls
Mission Statement: To provide a viable alternative for veterinary care to those who need quality, affordable pet care at their home.
Dr. Jim Joyner D.V.M. has over 33 years in the practice of Veterinary Medicine. In that time, he noticed a continuing need for alternatives to the standard veterinary hospital. Specialty practices, emergency hospitals, spay/neuter clinics, and the recent advent of house call practices have helped fill some of those needs. In his retirement, he still found Veterinary Medicine to be a very enjoyable and fulfilling practice. Dr. Joyner enjoys visiting his clients at their homes, and caring for their special friends in their own surroundings.
Veterinary Background of Dr. Jim Joyner D.V.M.
Dr. Joyner attended Texas A&M from 1973 until 1979. He obtained his B.S. in Veterinary Science, graduating Magna Cum Laude, in 1976. He was accepted to TAMU Veterinary School in 1976, and graduated with honors in 1979 with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation he worked in a large multi-hospital practice in the Duncanville area, where he managed one of their 4 practices. He then moved to the north Dallas area where he worked for several years before opening his own practice in Carrollton Texas in 1985. Carrollton West Pet Hospital grew to a large 5 Doctor practice during his time as founder/chief of staff. He sold Carrollton West Pet Hospital in late 2003 to one of his long time associates. For the last 8 years Doctor Joyner had his own Relief Veterinary practice, working in other practices when their regular Doctors were absent. This vast and varied experience made him realize how much he missed having his own practice. So in 2012 Doctor Joyner opened Home Sweet Home Veterinary Housecalls.
